Personalized Photo Book

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Sometimes is hard to choose the right present for your loved ones. Photo book can make a great present. The best photo books are those with personalized covers.

Personalized Photo Book

Last year I pondered this very question and after some research hit on the idea of a photo book. These books enable you to create your own hardback or paperback book, the pages of which are filled with photos of your choice. With some systems you can add annotations if you like, and you choose the arrangement and size of all the photos so you have total control.

For example, you could put all your best pictures of a babies first year in there. You could make your own photo book. One of a wedding or a favorite vacation. Or my personal favorite – a book featuring the photos of all the high points from the last year.

From photos of moving into your new home, to that weekend away, to having your first flying lesson, all the things that have made the last year special and memorable can be gathered together into one cohesive book as a wonderful way to remember what you have done and what you have experienced.

Many photographic shops offer this service though I personally used Lulu for my own. Being able to drag photos onto the page, rearrange them and reorder them at will makes for great fun – though sifting through all my photos to find the best ones, putting them in chronological order and deciding how best to display them took a lot longer than anticipated! So make sure you have the time necessary to make a really unique, original present.

Once you are happy with your design you can place your order and your photo book will be printed and dispatched to you ready for the big day. I just hope they appreciate all your hard work!

Make Your Own Photo Book

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Do you have a lot of photos just lying around. Don’t you want to do something creative with those photos? Photo memory books are a great way to store you photos.

Make Your Own Photo Book

Just because your photos are in electronic format, it doesn’t mean that you are stuck to viewing them on a screen. In fact, digital photos can be printed in many more attractive and creative ways than you could have dreamed of with old fashioned film. One of the exciting things that you can now do with your photos is to make your own best photo books.

A photo book is not a photo album. You don’t print the photos and then stick them into an album or put them in pockets. In a photo book, your photos are printed on to the page, just like in professional photograph books that you might buy in a bookstore. The books have custom covers with your text and even your pictures on them and they are professionally bound and printed on high quality paper.

Because you make your own photo book using photo book software on your computer, you can really get creative. Most photo book publishers let you choose from a wide selection of backgrounds and layouts for pages in your book. You can add text to pages in your choice of font and change your photos so that they are in black and white or sepia. You can even create your own storybooks and recipes book using your own photos and text if you like. Advanced digital scrapbooking techniques allow you to import beautiful and unique pages that you created in another software package or that you downloaded from a digital scrapbooking site.

But if you don’t have a lot of time or are just not artistically inclined, you can just choose a theme and group your photos into pages and have the photo book software make the photo book for you. You can always ‘tweak’ individual pages before you buy your finished book.

Photo books are a great way for you to show off your digital photos and to share them with family and friends. When you make a photo book, you are creating something that will bring joy to you and your family that you can enjoy together now and in the future. This is a wonderful way to preserve your treasured memories. And best of all, you can make your own photo book for as little as $10 for a small book or around $30 for a 8.5×11 book.

Photo Memory Books

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

If you want to preserve your photos for years or even generations to come then choose the best photo books. In photo book your precious photos will be save against moisture and light.

Photo Memory Books

The photo memory book can include these pictures as well as your words or captions and any other memorabilia. The memorabilia can be scans of programs, newspaper articles, or invitations.

Photo memory books are easily made with the software provided by one of the many photo book printer/publishers. This free software contains the layouts, backgrounds, and text options that you need to put your book together. You can then decide which size of book and type of cover you would like to complete your project. The output is a coffee table quality book that looks like you just bought at the book store.

Many times the ideas for a book are very obvious. For instance, you have been to a wedding and want to create a book of the pictures. Other times the ideas might not be so obvious because they might be a theme that could mean finding pictures that have been taken over a period of time such as a high school memory book that has been created for someone who is graduating.

Sometimes ideas are not as easy to come by as you might think. In order to find out the type of memory books people are making I scanned through several keyword searches and did an image search to come up with a list of 53 photo memory book ideas. From that list here are 14 great ideas for creating your own photo memory books:

  1. vacation
  2. retirement
  3. 50th anniversary
  4. Little League
  5. personal history
  6. honeymoon
  7. heritage
  8. adoption
  9. baby shower
  10. Bar/Bat Mitzvah
  11. new grandparent
  12. Sweet Sixteen
  13. pet

Best Online Photo Books

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Photo books come in different designs and sizes. You can also customize your photo book to personalize it for any special occasions. It all depends on how much money you want to spend for best photo books designs.

Best Online Photo Books

Smaller albums in the 5" x 7" range make excellent thank-you gifts for hosts, and are a great way to capture the memories of a special event such as a weekend outing, party, or reunion. Medium-sized albums come in either softcover or hardcover formats, and are well suited to lager projects such as baby books, family heritage albums, or albums featuring events where a considerable number of photos are taken and need to be preserved-holiday get-togethers or large reunions would be good examples of this type of event. Larger photo books are often 12" x 12", or larger. Larger books tend to be popular, since many more photos can be added to each page of the book. This in turn means that many more photographs can be featured in the book, overall. This may also make a larger book more cost-efficient than ordering a number of smaller books, one at a time. Many people also like larger photo books since the images appear larger, closer to their actual printed size.

As is to be expected, soft-cover books are less expensive than hardcover books, making them an excellent choice for smaller projects you would like to share with a number of people. Check with your online photo book provider-some companies will give you a discount on large orders. If you decide to order a number of photo books as gifts for the holidays or another special occasion, be sure to order well enough ahead so that the books arrive in time, and can then be given out in person or mailed to the intended recipients.

Softcover books are of course less sturdy than their hardcover counterparts. For this reason, many people choose small softcover photo books for projects that may not need to be preserved and handed down to future generations. Soft-cover photo books are more suited to everyday use: to be given to friends and family as a small thank-you gift, or as a fundraising project or gift to a teacher at a child’s school, for example.

Photo book design tips. If, on the other hand, your project is more labour and time intensive, and your goal is to preserve the photographs and memories for at least several more decades (perhaps even for several generations), then hardcover photo books are a good idea. Heritage book projects and other well-researched projects such as a collaborative book project by several members of the family, baby books, and digital scrapbooks are better suited to the slightly larger format of medium- to large-sized hardcover photo books. When embarking on a photo book project, be sure to spend a few moments thinking about the audience, intended use, and budget for your project before you begin.

Your Photography Book

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

If you are a passionate photographer then you probably considered of putting your work into photo book. Here are some great photo book ideas to help you make your own personalized photo book.

Your Photography Book

  1. Weddings are an obvious choice for a photography book, and not just your own. Even if the wedding you are attending already has an official photographer, your photo book will make a great wedding gift. When you are taking photos, try to focus on things that the official photographer may miss, such as humorous dancers, or cute kids.
  2. Holidays are a great option, and your family and friends will certainly appreciate a photo book of any recent holiday get-togethers, whether they were able to attend or not. This is a great way to keep families together and in each other’s hearts and minds all year round.
  3. Whether you are an avid hiker or you just like to visit your local park a few time a week, putting together your Nature photos can be a rewarding experience. You can take photos of natural things like lakes, mountains, and trees, or you can record all the fun had on family camping trips and the like. Best of all, these photos can give you that touch of the outdoors to keep you going when the weather isn’t cooperating.
  4. Another great photography book theme is City Life. Get out and about in our hometown or wherever it is you are visiting, and get photos of the people, places and things that you see there.
  5. It may take a few years to get enough material for a book, but taking photos of a child on his or her Birthday from their first one on would make a great birthday gift in and of itself. Try to focus on recurring items like cakes, presents, and other attendees to ensure that the birthday theme is clear.
  6. You will really have to be on the ball for this one, but having a photographic record of as many of your Child’s Firsts as is possible would be something that will be cherished for a lifetime. You probably don’t need any extra encouragement to take pictures of your kid, but do make sure that you record such things as his or her first days, first steps, and first solid food.

  1. If you have a family member (or friend you’ve known for a long time), who is in the process of purchasing hid or her first home, it might be fun to put together a book of all of the other Homes he or she have lived in for as long as you’ve known them. There are probably a lot of great memories in those places, and your photo book would be much appreciated on such a big move forward.
  2. If you have a friend or family member who excels in Sports, put together best photo books of as many games as you can, including stories of their exploits. This will also be a treasured item as the years go on.

Photo Book Ideas

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Making the best photo books has been a dream of many photographers since the beginning of photography.

Photo Book Ideas

Every house is full of photo books which chart history and are a pictorial representation of the family tree. Now that digital photography has replaced using film, and we are all happy snappers, it is possible to create albums for just about any occasion. Here are some excellent ideas for creating a photo book.

The perfect wedding present for a couple is a photo book that includes their life right up to the wedding day. Gather together any images you can from family and friends including images from when the bride and groom to be were children. It is obligatory that some of those most embarrassing photos of bath times as babies are included too! Dedicate a section to the day they met and if possible the night that one proposed to the other. The photo book should culminate in a collection of pictures of both the hen night and the stag night, just as long as it isn’t likely to start divorce proceedings on the wedding day!

The moment that a new baby comes into a family, all cameras are at the ready to try and capture that first smile, the first laugh and the first unaided steps. Out of the hundreds of pictures that are taken by aunties, uncles and grandparents, it is possible to create a bumper photo book that will be a treasured item for the parents and for the child as it grows.

When somebody moves away, whether it is to relocate for a job, go to university or to go travelling, it can be a difficult time as they miss family and friends. As a leaving gift make a photo book keepsake for them to take with them. Ask all their friends and family members to create a page each, with a few selected photos that are reminders of good times. As it is possible to add text to online digital photo books, add a brief note, maybe a fond farewell, or a reminder of a favourite time.

There are literally hundreds of reasons to make online photo books; maybe you want to create a collection of some of your best photos or put together an art portfolio. Whatever your reasons for making an album, let your imagination run as free as your photography skills.

Online Photo Books

Photo books are meant to store your photos and preserve those precious memories forever. Here are some photo book projects tips.

Online Photo Books

If you are like many travelers, you will likely take many more photographs than you can easily store or sort. With the popularity of digital cameras, the tendency to snap photos of everything in sight is even greater. Often, photographs are left in files on the computer, and seldom enjoyed. Online photo books allow you to transfer images directly from digital media or computer files, meaning that your best photos can go directly into book format. You can then order as many copies as you want.

Another benefit of online photo books is that you can organize the book as you go, pulling images from various files without needing to sort through boxes, albums, or files full of prints, as you would need to do for a traditional scrapbook or photo album project. In addition, you can choose only the best files from your trip, meaning you can cut down on the number of duplicate images that often show up on albums featuring vacation or travel photos. Since you will be sorting and editing your photos ahead of time, the finished photo book will be a condensed and edited version of your favourite images, which can then be stored, displayed, and easily shared.

Making copies of best photo books is incredibly easy: simply order extra copies from the company providing the online photo book service. If your own project is fairly large, consider making a smaller book containing the highlights of your trip. A small format such as a 5" x 7" soft cover book is affordable, and can be ordered and shipped to family and friends.

When organizing your travel photos for your photo book, several things will help you cut down the time spent on organization, and will also keep your project unified. Before you begin, consider doing a "first cut" of favourite photos. If you were traveling with a group, or with friends or family members, have each person create a folder on the computer containing their favourite photographs. You can then compile a new folder containing everyone’s favourite photographs from the trip; this will reduce the amount of time spent searching for images or making editing decisions as you work on the photo book itself.

Once you get to work on the book layout, consider organizing some pages by theme and subject matter, instead of only placing images in the order they were taken during the trip. While many people organize their travel photographs chronologically, feel free to do a page or two of overall highlights, or images that were repeated several times during the trip. Some examples might include a collage of favourite photos of the travelers themselves, images of monuments, landmarks, sunsets, or particularly striking landscapes.

While your online photo book is a record of your trip, it can include personalized touches, humorous layouts, and images that stood out for good reason-or for no reason at all. Your photo book should reflect and celebrate you and your adventures, and does not necessarily have to be a photo-journalistic record of your travels.

Photo Books

Photo books are a great way to store your photos forever. The best photo books are personalized for special occasions like wedding and anniversaries.

Photo Books

Today, a lot of the younger generation spend a great deal of time uploading digital images onto their social networking sites. This means that many images end up left on a camera or a computer screen and do not get printed. Here in this article we shall look at the different ways you can make the most out of your photos, from photo books through to canvases and the different effects you can add to make your images that little more special.

Photo books are fantastic as you can choose all your own images from anytime that you like, so if you want to collect all your favourite photos ever then you can. You can keep them all in one safe place, knowing that they are available to you whenever you want. Alternatively you can set up certain photos together to create a timeline, so you can keep a photographic record of your family members-with all their important mile stones.

Another fantastic feature of photo books is that you can often edit the photos you want uploaded on their. Many of the online companies that offer this service will be able to edit your photos if you want them to, including changing them to black and white, sepia and photo shopping out any flaws you don’t want on the photo.

You are not just limited to photo books however; there are many different products you can have personalised that are available online. Photo books make brilliant gift ideas but so do, mugs, bags, mouse mats and canvases. All you need to do is choose the photo you think will be most appropriate and then create your order online and upload. Why not take some photos on your friend’s wedding day or birthday and then create a unique gift for them-by either having it printed on a present or your very own photobook.

There are so many creative things that you can do with your digital images today it seems such a shame to just leave them on a computer screen instead or preserving them in photo albums. Images come alive once they are printed; it is probably the best part of taking a photo.

Often though, many people never get as far as printing their images and don’t get to see how potentially good they could look, edited, enlarged or printed onto proper photography paper. The whole process is so simple, there are so many great companies online that will print your images at a reasonable cost-all you need to do is upload your images and select what you want-it couldn’t be simpler.

Photo book is a perfect way to store your precious memories. Find out where you can get best photo books.

Make Photo Book Online

When you make a photo book, the pictures are printed directly onto the page. Sometimes with photo albums, the pictures will deteriorate over time. This usually does not happen with a photo book, which is an advantage. They’re an awesome way to preserve memories and share life’s special events with others. Various themes can be chosen for a photo book. Here are some ideas -

1. Baby Photos – Collect all of baby’s first year in a photo book. Use your baby’s newborn photos. The first time you held him after he was born. The first time you fed him. His first smile. The first time he sat up on his own. His first steps. His first birthday party. All of his memorable firsts. The funny memories, the sad memories, and the precious ones and compile them into a book. It’ll be a wonderful keepsake to show him when he’s older.

2. Wedding Photos – Compile all of your favorite wedding photos into book. Pictures of the bride and her bridesmaids, the groom and his groomsmen. The I-do’s and family members dancing their pants off at the reception. What other images did you like? Be sure to include those too.

3. Vacation Photos – Chose pictures from the long road trip. Pics of the hotel, the tourist activities, the restaurants where you ate and all of the other fun things you did on your vacation.

4. Graduation Photos – Graduation is indeed a very special event. If you’re close with the grad, perhaps if you live with them or see them before the ceremony, you’ll have lots of opportunities to take photos of them. Capture a few shots of them getting ready for graduation. Get the shot of the first time they put on their cap and gown. Capture the anticipation and excitement of knowing they’ve accomplished something great and are about to be commended for their accomplishment. Of course take pictures of the ceremony and them with their family and friends after the ceremony. Add these to a photo book.

5. Holiday Photos – Choose a holiday, whether it’s Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other holiday and compile these into a book. If you spent your holidays with your family and friends, and took a lot of photos, there will be lots of options to choose from.

Use your photo book as a coffee table book to be displayed where your guests can see it. You’ll surely receive a lot of good feedback from the pictures you’ve taken. Photo Books are great for compiling, preserving and displaying life’s special moments.
